Performance Solutions Manager

Journal Media (JML) is Ireland’s largest indigenous advertising network offering top brands advertising solutions across five Irish sites. We partner with Distilled to engage audiences with innovative content and display solutions across some of Ireland’s most iconic digital brands: TheJournal.ie, The42, Daft.ie, DoneDeal.ie and Adverts.ie. We are seeking a Performance Solutions Manager to establish JML/Distilled as the leading domestic supplier for digital performance across native and display. The role will combine outbound performance sales with close collaboration alongside our agency sales team, ensuring our solutions deliver measurable results and strong ROI for clients. You will play a pivotal role in winning new revenue, optimising campaign performance, and shaping innovative performance-led product opportunities.

Core Responsibilities:

Outbound Performance Sales

  • Deliver on agreed targets by securing performance spend budgets in digital display (Programmatic Guaranteed and Non-programmatic).
  • Focus outbound performance sales efforts across our strategic performance verticals (such as Motor OEM, Banking, Retail)

Deliver Best-in-Class Performance Results

  • Develop and implement performance strategies to drive CTR benchmark.
  • Collaborate with trafficking and tech teams to codify optimisation rules
  • Ensure consistent delivery of superior campaign outcomes across display and native channels.

Inbound Brief Performance Solutions

  • Partner with the agency sales team to enhance inbound brief responses with performance-focused solutions.
  • Incorporate best-in-class use of data, targeting, and platform capabilities to unlock incremental performance revenue.

Identify New Revenue Pools & Product Opportunities

  • Explore opportunities to shift budgets into native and display products.
  • Assess and size new performance revenue pools, with a focus on video, native formats, and integrated solutions.
  • Collaborate with product teams to design tailored performance-led offerings for key verticals.

Strategic Vertical Engagement 

  • Participate in agency meetings and business reviews and sharing insights for strategic verticals
  • Ensure seamless communication across internal and external stakeholders relating to strategic verticals

Skills/Requirements:

  • Proven track record in digital advertising sales with a strong focus on performance campaigns (display, native, or programmatic).
  • Strong understanding of DMPs, data-driven targeting, and optimisation strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver revenue targets through both outbound sales and solution-based selling.
  • Strong collaboration mindset and successful collaboration experiences. 
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret campaign data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative approach to identifying new revenue opportunities and shaping product offerings.
  • Familiarity with machine learning optimisation in advertising contexts (preferred)
